Thank you for choosing to use HVS Shorts Extended ("we," "us," or "our"). We are deeply committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. We designed this extension from the ground up to be a completely private, locally operating tool that prioritizes user security above all else.

This Privacy Policy applies to all information collected through our browser extension, HVS Shorts Extended. By installing and using the extension, you agree to the practices described in this document.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

Unlike many modern applications, HVS Shorts Extended operates with a strict "zero data collection" philosophy. We explicitly guarantee that we do not collect, harvest, or transmit any of the following data:

• Personally Identifiable Information (PII): We do not collect names, email addresses, IP addresses, or any other identifying information.
• Web History & Traffic: We do not track the URLs you visit, the videos you watch, your search queries, or the time you spend on pages.
• Keystrokes & Input Data: While our extension listens for the specific press of the Left and Right Arrow keys to control video playback, these events are processed instantaneously in your browser's local memory and are immediately discarded. We do not log, save, or transmit your keyboard activity.
• Analytics & Telemetry: We do not embed any third-party trackers, analytics software (like Google Analytics), or crash-reporting tools inside the extension.

2. How the Extension Works (Local Processing)

HVS Shorts Extended is a standalone, client-side script. This means all the code required to run the extension lives directly inside your web browser. When you press an arrow key, the extension calculates 3% of the current video's duration and adjusts the HTML5 video player's timestamp locally.

At no point does the extension communicate with an external database, API, or server to perform its core functionality. Your data never leaves your computer.

3. Explanation of Requested Permissions

To function correctly, HVS Shorts Extended requires specific permissions when you install it from the Chrome Web Store. We only request the absolute minimum permissions necessary for the extension to work:

• Host Permission for *://*.youtube.com/*: YouTube operates as a Single Page Application (SPA). This means navigating from the homepage to a YouTube Short does not trigger a traditional page reload. To ensure our custom video-skipping script is ready the moment a Short loads, the extension must be permitted to run passively across the YouTube domain. We use this access strictly to detect when a video player is active on the screen. We do not read or modify your account details, comments, or private playlists.

4. Third-Party Services & Links

Because our extension does not collect data, we have absolutely no data to share, sell, or rent to third-party advertisers, marketers, or data brokers. The extension does not contain hidden links, advertisements, or affiliate trackers.

5. Children's Privacy

HVS Shorts Extended does not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age. Given that the extension collects zero data from any user regardless of age, the privacy of minors is inherently protected by design.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Effective Date" at the top of this document, and the updated version will be effective as soon as it is accessible. Because we do not collect your contact information, we cannot notify you individually of changes. We encourage you to review this privacy notice frequently to be informed of how we are protecting your privacy.
